My Favorite Things April Release Countdown | Day 3

Hello and welcome to day 3 of the My Favorite Things April Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on April 3rd at 9pm EST. And we're  changing things up starting with this release and sharing all of the countdown posts at 9pm EDT each day!

And stay tuned for the week following each release - we're bringing you even more inspiration and ideas using all of the new products!

So on to my cards for today. First up I have one that I created with the new Pure Innocence set called Birthday Pinata. I love all of the images in this set because you can create an entire party scene. :)

To create the card I first stamped, coloured and die cut the girl image and then I also die cut a white stitched rectangle panel. I added brick detail to the panel with the English Brick Wall Stencil and Peacock Feathers Distress ink and then I added the girl image on top.

The little candy pieces were stamped directly on the white panel and I added the pinata onto the design with a bit od foam adhesive. I alo added a silver string for the pinata to hang from.

I finished the card by adding the panel to a Blu Raspberry card base and then I added the sentiment banner and some clear gems for some added dimension.

For my second card, I created a rainbow striped background with Distress inks by adding post-it tape onto the card stock panel in rows and then adding the various ink colours in between.

I created a distressed look on the inked stripes by adding some water and then dabbing it off with a paper towel and then once it was dry I added the panel to an Orange Fizz card base.

To create the large Fiesta greeting, I die cut the word twice from white card stock and once from silver glitter paper and then I layered them on top of one another with the glitter one on top. I adhered them to the large stripe in the center and then I added some clear gems onto some of the stripes as well.

Thanks so much for joining me for Day 3 of the April release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.

My Favorite Things April Release Countdown | Day 4

Hello and welcome to day 4 of the My Favorite Things April Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on April 3rd at 9pm EDT. And we're changing things up starting with this release and sharing all of the countdown posts at 9pm EDT each day!

And stay tuned for the week following each release - we're bringing you even more inspiration and ideas using all of the new products!

For my card today I used the new Rain or Shine stamp set and paired it with the Horizontal Collage Cover-Up die to create a cute springtime scene.

I first created the background by adding Broken China Distress ink to an entire white card stock panel and then I did the same on a second panel with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink. Once I had the Peacock Feathers one done, I also added a sunray detail with the Sunrise Radiating Rays stencil.

I die cut both of the panels with the Horizontal Collage Cover-Up die and adhered them onto a card base - I added the Broken China frame and then inlaid the Peacock Feather pieces so I would have the contrasting shades of blue in the background.

I stamped, coloured and die cut the images from the Rain or Shine stamp set, and then I adhered them onto the scene. I also added a sentiment stamped from the Aim for the Clouds stamp set and completed the card with the Studio Katia Clear Raindrop Mix for some fun dimension.

Thanks so much for joining me for Day 4 of the April release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.

My Favorite Things April Release Countdown | Day 5

Hello and welcome to day 5 of the My Favorite Things April Release Countdown.

So now onto my first card for today - for this one I used the new TOAD-ally Awesome stamp set and combined it with the Splendid Swans stamp set to create a fun pond scene filled with playful frogs!

I used all three frogs from the set and combined them with the cattails, and lily pads from Splendid Swans and tucked all of the images into the Bold Stripes Cover-Up background that I created with a couple of shades of blue ink to look like water.

I stamped the sentiment onto two separate banners and added them along two of the strips in the background. To complete the card I added little google eyes to each of the frogs and added some jewels scattered on the card front.

For my second card I used the new Too-Cute Turtles stamp set and combined it with some other new products (coming soon!) to create a cute graduation themed card.

I stamped and coloured my turtle and then die cut it with the coordinating die. I then stamped out the gradutation cap (coming soon) and hand cut it with my scissors since it doesn't have a coordinating die. I adhered the hat to the turtles head making sure to completely cover up the flower that was actually there LOL! :)

I added some brick detail to the background before adhering the turtle and then I placed the sentiment underneath. The sentiment is a combination of the new COngrats die (this month's free with $60) and a sentiment from the turtles stamp set that I heat embossed on a black card stock strip.

I finished the card by adding the panel to a Sour Apple card base and adding a black gem to the top of the graduation cap.

Thanks so much for joining me for Day 5 of the April release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.

See you tomorrow for more countdown fun!!

Wednesday Sketch Challenge 378

Hello and welcome back. Today I have a card to share for the newest My Favorite Things sketch challenge. This week's simple sketch features a square element with a sentiment underneath, which inspired me to use a small egg-shaped scrap that I had left over from a previous project.

I love that the leftover piece was already the start of a little scene with the grass and the cloudy sky. :)

Once I had decided on the egg as the foundation of the scene, I searched through my stamp sets for a small character I could add and came across the Sweet Forest Friends set which worked perfectly! I added the tree so it went off the edges of the scene and then I added the little bunny looking up at the butterfly in the tree.

To complete the card I added my stamped sentiment with black ink and added the panel to a Persimmon card base. I also added some small gems that matched the little butterfly in the tree.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! :)

Friends Forever | Wednesday Sketch Challenge

Hello and welcome back! Today I have a card to share for the newest My Favorite Things sketch challenge. This month's sketch is clean and simple and is presented in a landscape orientation. I decided to change it up for my design and create a vertical A2 sized card.

I used the main rectangle in the sketch design as the inspiration for my sentiment and strip if grass and I didn't extend either of them all the way across the card. I like to look of them stopping in the middle and only being under the scene I created.

Instead of the stars in the sketch, I used the adorable bunnies from the Bubble over with Joy stamp set and also added in come of the Studio Katia Irresecent Bubbles - I am so in LOVE with these... they look amazing in real life, and I pretty much want to put them on everything LOL!

I finished the card by adding the panel to a Grapesicle card base. I don't usually use purple in my designs because I never like how it looks, but I have really been loving it lately.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Bundle of Balloons Card Kit Release!

Hello and welcome back! The new My Favorite Things card kit called Bundle of Balloons is officially available now in the MFT online store. In this month's kit you'll receive the Alphabet Balloon dies, the Number dies and a rainbow assortment of card stock that includes 20 sheets!

For my card tonight I decided to create a bouquet of balloons growing from a planter pot. I thought it would be cute to have all of the balloon strings coming from the pot to create a colourful bunch of floating balloons.

I diecut a bunch of the plain balloons from various colors of card stock in the kit and then I mixed in some black and white polka dot ones as well.  I added the balloon strings with a black pen before adhering everything down and a few of the balloons are raised with foam adhesive.

I coloured the pot with grey Copic markers and I added the stamped Happy Birthday strip over the balloon strings. I also personalized the card by layering some pink number balloons for a tone-on-tone effect.

Thanks so much for stopping by tonight! I can't wait to see what everyone creates with the new kit!

Bundle of Balloons Card Kit Countdown | Day 1

Hello and welcome back! Today I have another card to share with the new My Favorite Things card kit, Bundle of Balloons.

For my card today I combined the kit with the fun Monster Sized stamp set to create a colourful card with a bit of character. I said it yesterday, but I'll say it again... I love that you can customize the sentiments to say anything you want with the Alphabet Balloon dies.

I stamped my monster image onto a white card stock panel with Extreme Black ink, and then I coloured him in with Copic markers. I then added the balloons above him to spell out 'scream' and added the rest of the stamped sentiment on a banner underneath.

And don't forget - we're celebrating the Bundle of Balloons card kit with prizes for YOU! Purchase a card kit for your chance to win 1 of the 5 secret party balloons that contain a gift voucher! The kit will be available tonight at 9pm EST!

Bundle of Balloons Card Kit Countdown | Day 2

Hello and welcome to the first day of the countdown to the March My Favorite Things card kit called Bundle of Balloons! This month's kit features two amazing balloon die sets with both the alphabet and numbers!

I love that you can customize your card greetings with the balloons and create cards for pretty much any occasion. For my card today I used the balloons to spell out Woohoo (something I often say LOL!)  and created a birthday card by adding a secondary sentiment with the Yay for You stamp set.

I coloured all of the balloons with distress inks and then I diecut silver sparkle balloons so I could diecut inlay the letters. And the great thing about doing this technique is you end up with a second set of balloons that you can use on another card.

You can see how I created this card in this week's episode of MFTv at the MFT YouTube channel. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a full look at the kit and card samples from the DT using the new products.

The Birthday Project - Groovy Gift Cards

Hello and welcome back! Every month on the MFT Challenge blog, we have a new birthday themed challenge to help fill up our birthday card stash and this month is all about gift cards!

I love giving gift cards but I always like to dress them up somehow to make them a little more personalized and special for the recipient. The Gift Card Window & Frame Die-namics and the Gift Card Pouches make it so easy to create a card with a bit of extra personality.

I used a Starbucks gift card in my design but instead of coffee themed I decided to make it all about the tea lovers out there. ;) I added a tea cup that I die cut from the Tea Party Die-namics and I added a tea bag tag with twine to add some realism to the design.

I also die cut the spoon from Brushed Silver card stock and added it inside the teacup for a fun look.

To create the background, I repeatedly stamped the Long Time No Tea sentiment onto a cream card base with Grout Gray ink and then I stamped the main sentiment onto the tag with black ink. I added a scallop edge along the bottom and also included a strip on black and white striped paper onto the card bottom and the tea bag tag.

I completed the card with some PPP jewels and a heart on the teacup cut from Silver Sparkle card stock. I love that I only added colour to the teacup to really keep the overall look subtle with a single pop of colour.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I look forward to seeing ehat you all create for this month's challenge. :)

Stitched with Love : Birthday

Hello and welcome back! Today I have three cards to share featuring the latest cross-stitch patterns from My Favorite Things that coordinate with the Cross-Stitch Tag Die-namics. All of the new patterns are birthday themed, but they can definitely be used for other occasions as well. :)

I kept my colours similar on all three designs and stitched three separate tags that I could add to cards but still make them removable for the recipient so they can save them as a keepsake or re-gift them to someone else.

I stitched the present, one of the cupcakes and the birthday cake and I picked some coordinating birthday sentiments from the Gift Card Greetings stamps set and the More Essential Sentiments stamp set.

I added patterned papers to my card bases and then used the stamped sentiment strips to hold the tags on the cards without actually adhering them on.

You can visit the MFT YouTube channel to see a video sharing how I created these birthday cards with removable stitched tags. :)

I hope you enjoy the new birthday patterns. We can't wait to see what everyone stitches up!

My Favorite Things March Release Replay

Hello and welcome to the My Favorite Things March Release Replay. Today we're sharing more cards created with the new March release, and I decided to use the newest Pure Innocence set to create an Easter scene on my card.

I also used the Striped Sentiment Strip Cover-Up die on my scene to create the background with the little strip openings that I could tuck the Easter eggs into.

I coloured the girl and the eggs with bright spring colours and added green distress ink to the background panel to create the grass.

I added the sentiment stamped on a white sentiment banner and tucked it into the scene to complete the card. I also added some clear gems for a bit more dimension and detail.

Stitched with Love: Easter

Hello and welcome back! Today I have some new stitched projects to share using the My Favorite Things Cross-Stitch Tag Die-namics along with our newest Easter patterns.

You can find the new Easter patterns here.

I created both a tag and a card using the new patterns - I love die cutting the tag multiple times to create a larger area to stitch like I did on the peeps card. I just cut it twice from the same card stock piece (I lined it up so the hole would be continuous) and then I just extended the peeps pattern to 5 instead of 3 to create a little rainbow of peeps.

I created the sentiment by adding the stamped part first and then die cutting the letters for the word peep from card stock that matched the stitching.

I stitched the bunny onto the tag with grey's, aqua's and pink's and added some grey chevron paper to the top to match the bunny image. I then added the hole reinforcement cut from Summer Splash card stock to match the stitching around the bunny image.

Thanks so much for stopping by today - we hope you enjoy the new patterns. Happy stitching!

My Favorite Things March New Product Launch

Hello and welcome to the New Product Launch for the My Favorite Things March Release! All of the new products we've been sharing all week are officially available now at mftstamps.com, and I can't wait to see what's on everyone's must-have lists!

For my card tonight I used the new Best in the West stamp set to create a cute little scene with the cowbear and cowfox. ;)  The coordinating die set for these stamps has a stand-alone lasso die so I thought it would be cute to have a heart in it to go with the sentiment.

I coloured the images with Copic markers and added some glossy accents to the boots and the hats to add some dimension and shine. I created a one layer background by die-cutting and piecing the parts together after I had added colour to each of them. I also added clouds and sunshine rays with my stencils before adhering everything together.

Thanks so much for joining me for the March release new product launch and all of the countdown days this week! Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them!

My Favorite Things March Release Countdown | Day 1

Hello and welcome to day 1 of the My Favorite Things March Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on March 6th at 9pm EST.

For my card today I used the Hooray word die and paired it with a stamped sentiment from the Yay for You stamp set, and layered them both onto a white sentiment banner. I added the colour to the Hooray die cut with Distress inks and created an ombre effect with the ink.

I also added Distress inks to a separate panel going from blue to purple to pink and then I die cut it with the Polka Dot Cover-up Die-naics. I layered it onto a white card base so the white would show through the holes and then I added the sentiment banner on top.

I also added some clear sequins in some of the holes for added detail and dimension and I filled the center of the sequins with Stardust Stickles.

Thanks so much for joining me for Day 1 of the March release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.
